Have you ever been so sure of yourself and the pathway you were headed down and then met headfirst with a brick wall of opposition?

At first it's a shock. You think, how could someone not possibly agree with me on this or that issue?

Then you start to doubt yourself. If you are the only one involved then you may back down. But if you are 'standing in the gap' for someone else you may do what I do, and am doing. You go over your ideas and try to be objective about your motives and about your investigation. If you can still 'get your haunches up' over the issue then you forge ahead, full steam, into the brick wall.

And it falls where it will. And when you are standing in this gap for someone who is powerless or not represented other than by you, then you become like a mother lion with the hyena after her young. Sometimes, in spite of the protection, the hyena wins but not without a knock down, drag out fight.

Well, can't be more specific than that but perhaps you have been in a similar situation. Just wanted you to know that around the world people are standing in the gap for others. Perhaps you are standing there. Perhaps you see someone standing between you and your brick wall. We go through life being both the protector and the protectee.

And that's what I think about it.

Who ever has you standing in their gap is a very lucky person.
