Predictions abound for three or four inches of snow tonight. In this part of the country this means that the local grocery store is stocking up on, and being emptied of, milk, bread and bottled water...and perhaps certain types of cheap wine.
If one looks at the recent past however, one might see that these sort of predictions seldom come through to fruition.
When we lived near Cleveland the forecasters made a point of saying how difficult it was to predict weather in northern Ohio what with the lake, the snow belt, etc. despite their sophisticated machinery that tracks every little cloud and water droplet.
Here, our locals also have the same expensive tracking devices and run TV commercials touting the very latest in storm tracking and yet they also say it is very difficult to predict local weather what with the river, the Jet Stream, etc.
That said, if we get a dusting of snow I will be surprised. But we do have a nice supply of soup, bread, water, soda and milk...but YIKES! no cereal...which will prompt another trip to the store before the big storm hits.
I will keep you posted. And that's what I think about it.
