Today my husband packed two suitcases for a trip to Ukraine.
In one there are books in English that I am sending to a foster mother there, pain and allergy medicine for children, baby clothes for friends' newborns, peanut butter crackers, books on economy and accounting for one of the foster dads and various other items.
So far there are no clothes in the suitcase.
He has gone off to weigh this suitcase and the luggage of four other team members who will be traveling with him. One has filled her suitcase with donated baby clothes to leave in an Abandoned Baby ward in Simferopol. I wonder where she is packing her own clothes.
Another has a suitcase full of craft ideas for a kids' camp one day at Project Pilgrim. Where is she putting her clothes?
There are some unanswered questions here. And that's what I think about it.

I learned something important on an Eco-tour to Borneo some years ago.
When you are in a raft on a river and you notice bubbles coming up alongside, if there is one bubble it comes from a fish. If there are two bubbles rising from the river they come from a crocodile. If the two bubbles follow alongside as the raft drifts, the best thing to do is hang on tightly.
I learned something else, too. If you stop to check for leeches on your body under a tree in the jungle, why that is just plain stupid. There are constrictors in those trees and if they are hungry they can drop out of the tree and have you for dinner.
Another thing, in the jungle it is always best to be near to the person with the biggest machete! (See above paragraph).
But even then, that guy may not go after a hooded cobra who rears up from the jungle floor because the cobras eat the rats that eat the date palms.
And that's what I think about it.

Had the best deal go sour this week.
A free apartment for as much as a month right in the middle of Greenwich Village in New York City.
Free.
All I had to do was get there (and take care of the cat who would be in the apartment). Although my husband has always said there is no such thing as a free cat, this comes close.
The former, not the latter, was the problem.
Without going into details, I am stuck in southern Indiana for the time being but hoping the offer comes around again next summer. I am already saving my pennies. And stocking up on catnip treats.

Had a delicious strawberry soup today. It reminded me of Royal Caribbean cruises menu item where strawberry, peach and orange soups were featured.
Delicious, both the soup and the memories.
We asked the waiter what the ingredients were although we knew the two main ingredients were strawberries and heavy cream.
So that's what made it so delicious. And that's what I think about it.
