Really Random Tuesday

1. Did you ever wonder how bath towels ever get dirty?

2. The rabbits out the front window are getting plump while the Hostas out in the back garden are looking sickly. Do you think there is a connection between the two?

3. Yes, some of you asked. The paper I was writing about last week, and putting off and putting off, was finally finished and submitted.

4. I friend of ours is right now at this moment in an oncologist's office learning the prognosis for her cancer. Her husband is with her and we are supporting them from afar.

5. Three grand children are this week down in Louisiana, helping with hurricane Katrina relief. Last year one learned dry-walling. I hope this year someone learns some plumbing.

6. I think about the thousands of abandoned babies in Ukraine and wonder why a lovely couple we know has to wade through mounds of red tape to adopt an orphan from Russia.

7. I think about a friend who was promoted to Commander in the navy this July 4 and know that the military is in good shape if they continue to recruit and promote such women.

8. I think about a CHINS (child in need of services) victim in this country and pray that she/he/they will be safe until I finish my CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) training and have them assigned to me.

9. My two daughters celebrated their birthdays recently. I am thinking how very blessed I am to live near them and to be a part of their lives (sometimes whether they want me to be or not - just kidding). Estrangements are so sad, even when necessary for survival. Family is the core that keeps life together while we walk this earth.

10. I think about my next week of Greek and know that I better put it on the top of my to-do list or I'll be whining about it to you in a blog or two.
