Heard during World Cup (futball) commentary:

-splendid strike
-that'll do nicely
-lovely dribbling skills
-a mouth-watering final
-just a whisker away
-a lot of argey-bargey going on
-it's a funny ole game
-that was hardly immaculate
-lovely footwork
-absolute nonsense. Oh dear!
-the referee's being fussy
-The Italians call this cleverness. The Americans call it cheating
-deeply pathetic
-plucky New Zealand
-That would have sent a cosmic shock into a seismic sensation
-These players will go absolutely 'potty'
-When that whistle blows it will sound like a concerto
-They are part of the 'group of apathy'
-They are on the 'boil'
-Just as it looked like it might be toddy time
-We have not seen sustained bedlam
-They should be playing tiffy tuffy in these last moments
-We don't like to see players rolling around in self-inflicted or fictitious injuries
-Amateur dramatics
-I think he falls rather easily
-quite shameful, really
-linking very adroitly

Perhaps the reason why this sport has not caught on with the testosterone-infused American public is partly due to the vocabulary of the commentators. I'm just sayin'!
